How I Stay Safe!
Personal Safety Workshop

Description of the Workshop

Grade Levels:
Cycles 1 and 2 of Elementary School

Objectives:
To empower children with the knowledge and age-appropriate skills they need in order to identify potentially threatening situations.  

Content:
Students learn the importance of the following basic safety strategies:

  • To always ask for permission.
  • To listen to their body and trust their instincts.
  • To say NO! in any situation in which they feel uncomfortable, confused or scared.
  • To always use the buddy system when playing outside or going anywhere.
  • To identify safe individuals, as well as places where they can seek help if needed.

 

How to Reserve a Workshop for Your School:

Every year, our Prevention Officers visit close to 60 elementary schools, as well as numerous day camps in the Greater Montreal area, thus sensitizing over 16,000 school-age children about the importance of staying safe.
